About the journal
Founded in 1965, Poetry Wales is quarterly magazine with an international outlook and an international reputation for fine writing and criticism. Under editor Robert Minhinnick, we have formed links with poetry publications and organisations the world over.
The magazine continues its long-standing reputation for showcasing the best in new poetry from around the world and, of course, from Wales. Recent issues have featured poetry from India, the USA, Argentina, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Wales, Germany, Japan and more, with each issue providing a taste of the diversity of different national literatures to be enjoyed for the first time in translation.
At the same time PW remains committed to bringing you the best Welsh writing in English; from the familiar and established - Duncan Bush, Tony Curtis, Gwyneth Lewis, Sheenagh Pugh to rising stars Owen Sheers, Sarah Corbett, Samantha Wynne Rhydderch - to the undiscovered stars of the future.
As one of the UKs most travelled poetry magazines Poetry Wales has enjoyed successful launches in cities as diverse and far afield as Buenos Aires, New York, Budapest, LA, Amsterdam proving itself to be the UKs most dynamic and wide-ranging poetry quarterly.
Join the many poetry-lovers across the global keeping in touch with the best in poetry from Wales and World with a subscription to Poetry Wales, and receive a free cassette of classic Anglo-Welsh poetry read by Sian James and Dannie Abse.
Instructions to Authors Submissions
Seren publishes between twenty and twenty-five new titles a year across its list yet receives hundreds of typescripts a year. We do our best to respond as quickly as we can, and like all publishers were keen to read remarkable new writing.
Authors considering submitting a typescript should be aware that in fiction and poetry our lists are often full for two years in advance, sometimes more. Seren publishes around five works of fiction a year, however our lists are currently full until at least 2009.
Owing to Serens increasing success as a publisher of literary fiction we are currently inundated with fiction submissions. Regrettably this means that we will be unable to give consideration to any manuscript sent to us from today (Jan 25) for a period of six months.
