Over a century ago, MLN pioneered the introduction of contemporary continental criticism into American scholarship. Critical studies in the modern languages (Italian, Hispanic, German, French) and recent work in comparative literature are the basis for the articles and notes in MLN.

Manuscripts for the French Issue should be sent directly to:

Manuscripts for the Italian Issue should be sent directly to:

Manuscripts for the Hispanic Issue should be sent directly to:

Manuscripts for the German Issue should be sent directly to:

Please supply an abstract of 100 or fewer words with your paper. The original and one copy of the manuscript must be accompanied by an exact copy on computer disk. Authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts according to the MLA style book, 6th Ed.
All authors of articles and notes will receive 1 bound copy of the issue their work appears in.
It is our policy to require the assignment of copyright from all authors. All manuscripts should be original work. It is the author's responsibility to obtain written permission for unpublished or published material quoted in excess of fair use, and for the reprinting of illustrations from unpublished or copyrighted material.
Disk Preparation Guidelines for MLN
MANUSCRIPT/DISK. Please send two paper copies (one original and one copy) of your manuscript and an EXACT copy of your manuscript on disk (CD preferred). Please be sure both paper copies and disk are the FINAL version of your manuscript. Label your disk with your name and the name(s) of your file(s). Delete any other files on your disk. Be sure to save a backup copy of the final disk and printout of your manuscript for your own reference!
