Instructions to Authors
The Clarke Library is pleased to serve as the home for the Michigan Historical Review, the only scholarly publication devoted to the history of Michigan. The Review is published twice yearly. Individual subscriptions are $20.00 ($25.00 foreign). Institutional subscriptions are $30.00 ($35.00 foreign).

The Review welcomes submissions relating to Michigan's political, economic, social, and cultural history. The editor also welcomes manuscripts in American, Canadian, and midwestern history that explore important themes related to Michigan's past. Articles should not exceed 10,000 words and may be submitted electronically or by mailing two copies to the above address. They should be double spaced with endnotes. Full-length articles receive a double-blind, peer review. Research notes and documents are reviewed in-house.
Articles are abstracted and indexed in America: History and Life, Current Contents, International Bibliography of Periodical Literature, and International Bibliography of Book Reviews and are available in Gale Group's Expanded Academic ASAP ?and through the History Cooperative.
The Review is published through the support of Central Michigan University, the CMU Department of History, the Clarke Historical Library, the Historical Society of Michigan, the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan, and the Grand Rapids Public Library.
