About us

 

What is the Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies ?

J.S.R.I. is an international publication of the Seminar for the Interdisciplinary Research of Religions and Ideologies and S.A.C.R.I. It is a peer-review academic publication intended for professors and young researchers interested in the study of religions and ideologies.

J.S.R.I. encourages interdisciplinary approaches engaging the following domains: interreligious dialogue, philosophy of religions, political philosophy and political science, ethics, religious studies, anthropology, sociology, educational science and communications theory. Proposals from other related spheres of research can be submitted to the editors.

J.S.R.I. is an open-access journal published on the internet, with three issues per year. The languages in which materials can be published are English and Romanian.

JSRI does not provide authors with offprints of published materials, but we will notify you by email when your manuscript is published online.

What kind of material can be published ?

Studies and articles (max. 25 pages), accompanied by an abstract in English (10 lines), and including endnotes and a bibliography.

The Conferences of S.C.I.R.I.

Reviews (3-10 pages)

Note: J.S.R.I. does not pay royalties. Copyright is warranted by national and international laws.

For the 18th issue, December 30, 2007

Topic of the issue: Perspectives in Jewish Studies. Essays in the honour of Moshe Idel

Possible focus area (preferred, but not exclusive) of this issue are:

- Moshe Idel's contribution to the study of religion/s 

- Moshe Idel's contribution to Jewish thought

- general theoretical issues in the study of Jewish mysticism and mysticism in general,

- other complementary topics in Jewish studies related to the topics developed by Moshe Idel in his works

 

 

Deadline for sending the material: 1st of November 2007

For the 19th issue, April 30, 2008

Topic of the issue: Religion and Ethnicity

 

Deadline for sending the material: 1st of April 2008

The material will be accompanied by an abstract (10 lines) and by the author's CV, a list of main publications (1/2 page) and a photo.

 

Materials can be sent via e-mail, as an attachment, formatted as Microsoft Word 7.0, 6.0, or RTF, at s_c_i_r_i at yahoo dot com The text should use the Times New Roman font, 12 pt, and a pagination of 1,5 lines.

 

For the bibliographic references, the editors prefer the Chicago Manual of  Style.
