A refereed, international journal published by the Department of English Language at Eastern Michigan University, the JNT continues to carry on the high standards set during its first twenty-eight years of publication. The newly-focused JNT publishes theoretically-sophisticated essays that explore narrative issues from a variety of interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and critical contexts. Published three time a year, JNT seeks to provide a forum for original essays that address the intersections between narrative, history, ideology, and culture, particularly those which rethink narrative theory.     Instructions to Authors jnt Submissions   Since its inception in 1971, JNT has provided a forum for the theoretical exploration of individual narrative texts and of narrative more generally. Current essay submissions should address the intersection of narrative, history, ideology, and culture all broadly defined.  The editors are particularly interested in essays that rethink narrative theory and those which cross disciplinary boundaries. Recent issues have included essays concerned with literary theory, cultural studies and marginalized literary figures and texts. Guidelines: Contributions should follow MLA style (5th edition). Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and incorporated into the text where possible. Contributors are to submit two copies of their manuscript.  The editors will not return copies of submissions unless a stamped, self-addressed envelope is enclosed. Overseas authors may wish to submit disposable copies and so indicate in an accompanying letter.
