Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***
Manuscripts, ideally between 6000 and 9000 words, should be sent to Professor David Culbert, Department of History, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70803, USA; Fax 225.578.4909; email: dhculbert@aol.com. Articles can be considered only if three complete copies are submitted, double spaced, one side of the paper, with ample margins. The article must have a clear title, name of the author and address. Authors are urged to submit line drawings or photographic illustrations with captions. Appendices can be run as a microfiche supplement. Include a short biographical note after the final footnote. The full postal address and fax number of the author, must be included, together with an email address/ home telephone number. Place before the first footnote. All pages must be numbered.
Notes and references, to be kept to a minimum, are to appear at the end of the article, not at the bottom of the page. Manuscripts will not normally be returned to contributors.
The following style should be used for books and articles referred to in the text:

Proofs Must be corrected and returned to the Editor within three days. Major alterations to the text cannot be accepted. Authors are urged to send minor corrections, citing page and line number by email—or the entire corrected article—by fax.
Corresponding authors will receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Additional reprints can be purchased through Rightslink® or alternatively on our journals website; when proofs are received.
