Gymnasium
At Yarra Leisure we have the latest pin loaded and computerised equipment to keep you working hard and looking fantastic. A range of weight machines, free weights and cardio equipment complete our spacious gym area.
Each centre has its own ¡°specialty¡±, with Richmond Recreation Centre operating two gyms during peak times to make sure you have a great work out each time, every time. Fitzroy Swimming Pool and Collingwood Leisure Centre have just installed new state of the art pin loaded equipment called Free-motion, which uses the latest technology.
And if weights aren¡¯t your thing, then get the blood pumping on one of the many pieces of cardio equipment found in our cardio area ¨C treadmills, steppers, rowers, striders, bikes and cross trainers ¨C we have it all!
First time at a gym or maybe its been a while¡
We want you to achieve your health and fitness goals, that‘s why we provide all our members with a comprehensive consultation to assess your individual goals. We then guide you through a personalised program and support you in your program by providing regular review and follow ups to make sure your on track!
Our qualified and friendly instructors are always available to provide some assistance with your program, motivational tips or even just a friendly chat.
Instructions to Authors
Guidelines for safety and courtesy Help everyone have safe and enjoyable workouts. Follow these simple tips.
- Replace equipment after use
- Wear appropriate clothing at all times i.e. athletic shoes, no denim or street wear
- Always carry a "sweat towel" in the group fitness studios
- Bags are not permitted in the group fitness rooms (lockers are available).
- Arrive 5 minutes before class
- If participants arrive 5 minutes after the class has begun they may be refused entry. This is because the warm up has been completed and they may be more likely to injure themselves.
- Drink plenty of water throughout and after the class.

- Wipe down machines, benches and Cardio equipment after use
- Where appropriate attire i.e. athletic shoes, no denim, street wear or shoes that damage equipment
- Bring a water bottle (plastic) for drinking. Food, alcohol, or glass bottles should not be taken in to the centre
- Always carry a "sweat towel" in the gym and Cardio vision rooms Refrain from dropping weights
- Replace weights in rack after use
- No weights in the stretching area
- Bags are not permitted in the gym, Cardio vision or group fitness rooms (always use lockers).

Swimming pools
- Shower before swimming
- Children 10 and under must be supervised by an adult Avoid water activities if you have a contagious disease, e.g. diarrhoea, meningitis.
- no running
- no diving
- no bombs
- no pushing
Spas
- Must be aged over 15 years to enter
- Pregnant women are advised not to use spas at all
- Avoid putting your head underwater
- Don't stay in spa for more than 15min.
Saunas
- Must be aged over 15 years to enter
- Pregnant women are advised not to use saunas at all
- Avoid sitting or lying on the floor
- Don't stay in sauna for more than 15min.
