Overview
A new journal from the Thought Trust.
Thought: A Journal of Philosophy is dedicated to the publication of short (of less than 4500 words), original, philosophical papers in the following areas: Philosophy of Maths, Philosophy of Logic, Logic (where there is clear and explicit philosophical relevance), Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology, Philosophy of Language, Metaphysics, and Value Theory. All published papers will be analytic in style. We intend that readers of Thought will be exposed to the most central and significant issues and positions in contemporary philosophy that fall under its remit. We will publish only papers that exemplify the highest standard of clarity.
Thought aims to give a response to all authors within eight weeks of submission. Thought employs a triple-blind review system: the author's identity is not revealed to the editors and referees, and the referee's identity is not revealed to the author. Every submitted paper is appraised by the Subject Editor of the relevant subject area. Papers that pass to the editors are read by at least two experts in the relevant subject area.

Instructions to Authors
Author Guidelines
Manuscript Preparation File Type and Format Manuscripts should be submitted through the ScholarOne site here: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tht. Manuscripts must be in Word document format, or LaTex file accompanied by a PDF. (For LaTex files: If a separate bibliography file or a common bibliographic package such as bibtex, bibtex + natbib, or biblatex is being used, please make sure to submit these addtional files.) The manuscript should be marked as either philosophy of logic, philosophy of maths, philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of language, value theory or metaphysics. Where a paper overlaps these areas, the author should choose the one they feel is most prominent. Articles should not exceed 4500 words, including footnotes.
Thought does not wish to consider for publication submissions that are replies to, or discussion of, papers that have appeared in venues other than Thought, nor discussions of recent monographs. Discussions of classic papers and classic monographs are viewed as an exception to this rule.
Anonymity To facilitate our anonymous review process, the author should not be identified in the manuscript or the abstract.
Abstract Papers should include an abstract of no more than 200 words.
Opt-in “No revisions” policy When submitting, authors have the opportunity to designate their submission as a “no revisions” paper; this guarantees that a final verdict will be reached after only one round of refereeing. Authors should indicate if they would like to opt in to this option.
Figures If a paper includes figures or artwork, authors must submit these files with the final draft.

If you are invited to revise your manuscript after peer review, the journal will also request the revised manuscript to be formatted according to a few minimal formatting requirements as described below.
References Footnotes are preferred to endnotes and should be kept to a minimum, with citations in the text. References should follow the APA style. This means that in-text citations should follow the author-date method whereby the author's last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text. The complete reference list should appear alphabetically by name at the end of the paper. Please note that for journal articles, issue numbers are not included unless each issue in the volume begins with page 1, and a DOI should be provided for all references where available.
In-Line References In-line references should follow the following format:
One author; Gabriel (2000) for direct references (e.g., "As Gabriel (2000) argues") and (Gabriel, 2000) for indirect references (e.g., "It has been argued (Gabriel, 2000)")
Two authors: Mathes and Severa (2004) and (Mathes & Severa, 2004)
