About the journal

Quaestio Rossica is a peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on the study of Russia’s history, philology, and culture. The Journal aims to introduce new research approaches in the sphere of the Humanities and previously unknown sources, actualising traditional methods and creating new research concepts in the sphere of Russian studies. Except for academic articles, the Journal publishes reviews, historical surveys, discussions, and accounts of the past of the Humanities as a field.

The Journal is published quarterly. It accepts articles in Russian, English, German, and French. All articles are accompanied by detailed abstracts in English and in Russian.

Quaestio Rossica observes international standards; materials published in the Journal are indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index, Web of Science (Arts and Humanities Citation Index), and Scopus as well as other important international databases.

 

Topics to be discussed

In 2020–2021

Main themes of Quaestio Rossica research journal for 2020–2021 are embracing the interdisciplinary approach, which covers different aspects of Russian history and culture.

QR strives to stimulate the authors to interpret the proposed themes in their own way, while anticipating the fruitful dialogue between the different approaches to research. We especially welcome papers which are aimed at the complex and comparative analysis, and are promoting polemics amongst the community of scholars.

  • Emotiveness as a Factor and Result: Historical and Artistic Perspective
  • Sexuality and Erotica: Chronological Context, State Policies, Historical Forms of Expression and Rejection
  • Historical Forms of Suggestion: Authors and Recipients
  • The Clash of Generations: Fathers vs Children; Reconciliation vs Rebellion. Historical Context and Figurative Reality
  • Russian and Soviet Identity: Contradictions in Understanding and Representation
  • Graphic Language. Verbality and Visuality in History and Modernity
  • Victim and Sacrifice in Russian History, Literature, and Art
  • The “Russian Mirage” in Foreign Cultures
  • Nonconformism and Counterculture during the Soviet and Post-Soviet Times
  • Nationalism and Imperial Ideology in Russian History and Literature

The decision of dedicating certain issue to certain theme is based upon the actual number of reviewed and accepted papers. Therefore, the theme might be prolonged for several issues. The papers ought to be prepared in accordance with the rules, available at the journal web-site.
