ANTHROPOZOOLOGICA
Instructions to Authors Scope of the Journal
Anthropozoologica is a semi-annual periodical with the objective to stimulate exchanges of research results and ideas among scientists studying the relationship between man and animal, from the origins down to modern times. Its aim is to promote the study of these relationships viewed as strong expressions of the history of cultures and societies in their natural environments.
The journal publishes original articles in French and English from all disciplines dealing with this topic, principally interdisciplinary syntheses. It also receives book reviews and contains bilingual scientific information (french and english) concerning the relationships between man and animal (recent publications, meetings, academic theses…). It can publish proceedings of colloquiums and thematic volumes.
General information
The submission of a manuscript to Anthropozoologica implies that it is not being offered for publication elsewhere. Copyright of published paper, including illustrations, becomes the property of the journal. Requests to reproduce material from Anthropozoologica should be addressed to the Editor. A form of assigment of copyright has to be signed before definitive acceptance.
The number of pages of the manuscripts is in principle not limited, but preference will be given to manuscripts of less than 50 000 characters, summary and bibliography included. Anthropozoologica also accepts short comments, critical restatements, information or summaries of research. They should be limited to 15 000 or 20 000 characters. Manuscripts must strictly conform to the Instructions for authors and will be sent to the journal:

The definitive manuscript (including tables and graphs), on a computer file, should be sent with the original figures (possibly on Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop; EPS format, 300 dpi minimum for photographs, 1200 dpi minimum for line drawings, in the page size of the journal, with Helvetica font in 8-point body.

Illustrations
The editorial board will pay special attention to the quality and relevance of illustration.
We recommend that the iconography should be furnished on numeric support (EPS format, 300 dpi minimum, Photoshop or Illustrator). Otherwise, line drawings must be in Indian ink or high quality laser printouts; high contrast photographs, placed on white or black backgrounds, are required. These can be grouped into composite plates, the elements of which are identified by capital letters (A, B, C, etc.). Plates are not placed at the end of the article: they will be considered as figures and numbered as such. Color plates may be published at the author's expense. The current fee is 230¤ per eight-page section.
Arrange Figures to fit one or two columns (70 x 190 mm or 144 x190 mm). A scale bar is needed for each figure (without magnification factor).
No diagram or table is to exceed one page; they should be legible after possible reduction.
