The Emily Dickinson Journal (EDJ) showcases the poet at the center of current critical practices and perspectives. EDJ features writing by talented young scholars as well as work by those established in the field. Contributors explore the many ways in which Dickinson illuminates and challenges. No other journal provides this quality or quantity of scholarship on Dickinson. The Emily Dickinson Journal is sponsored by the Emily Dickinson International Society (EDIS).

Instructions to Authors
The Emily Dickinson Journal welcomes submissions on all aspects of Dickinson and her work. Most manuscripts accepted for publication by the Journal are standard essay-length, twenty to thirty pages. We do not publish unsolicited poetry or reviews.
Manuscripts should be prepared according to current MLA style, with bibliographic information cited by textual or parenthetical reference to a complete list of Works Cited. The one exception is reference to standard editions of Emily Dickinson’s poems and letters. For examples of how to format such references, please refer to the essays in previous issues. Send electronic submissions to the Journal’s online system, ScholarOne, at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/edj. To submit, visit the website and create an account. Once you have access to your account, you will upload your paper directly to the website.
Please note:
- At this time, ScholarOne cannot upload Word 2007 documents. Please save your manuscript as a Word 1997–2003 document before submitting.
- Make sure to remove any identifying information (name, university, etc.) from the manuscript itself, as EDJ reviews are double blind.
- Supply a required summary of 150 or fewer words with your paper; should your essay be accepted, you will have an opportunity to revise your abstract before publication.
- Provide keywords for indexing purposes.
Send all paper correspondence to the Emily Dickinson Journal, Department of English, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, 306 Clemens Hall, Buffalo, NY 14260-4610. Address any questions to ubedj@buffalo.edu.
