About the journal
About DaedalusDaedalus was founded in 1955 as the journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and draws on the enormous intellectual capacity of the American Academy, whose Fellows are among the nation's most prominent thinkers in the arts, sciences, and humanities. Each issue addresses a theme with original, authoritative essays on a current topic like happiness, human nature, and imperialism. Features in the recently redesigned journal include fiction, poetry, and a variety of shorter essays, interviews, and comments on trends in the arts and sciences.
