About the journal
![](http://202.114.65.55/ahci/edit/upfile/0047-2786.jpg)
The Journal of Social Philosophy seeks to publish creative approaches to practical and normative issues of contemporary social life, such as those arising from economic and other forms of globalization, violent political conflict, and the multiplicity of cultural experiences worldwide. It places new emphasis on understanding the social contexts for political, legal, moral, and cultural questions, and gives priority to the development of novel theoretical frameworks, from social ontology to care ethics to cosmopolitan theories of democracy, human rights, and global justice. The Journal's editorial process proceeds online, with blind review of articles not only by referees but also by the editor, and aims to deliver timely responses for submissions. The Journal also on occasion publishes special issues focusing on topics of vital practical concern, in the conviction that these can be better understood with the aid of disciplined and innovative philosophical analysis.

Instructions to Authors
Journal of Social Philosophy seeks to publish creative approaches to practical and normative issues of contemporary social life, such as those arising from economic and other forms of globalization, violent political conflict, and the multiplicity of cultural experiences worldwide. It will place new emphasis on understanding the social contexts for political, legal, moral, and cultural questions, and will give priority to the development of novel theoretical frameworks, from social ontology to care ethics to cosmopolitan democratic theory. The Journal's new editorial process is web-based, with blind review of articles not only by referees but also by the editor, and it will enable a faster response-time for submissions. The Journal will also on occasion publish special issues focusing on topics of vital practical concern, in the conviction that these can be better understood with the aid of disciplined and innovative philosophical analysis.
Guidelines for authors:
Papers should be submitted electronically by email attachment to jsocphil@gmail.com. Please submit an abstract along with the paper, both blinded for peer review. Please include full identifying information within the text of the email. Papers should be no longer than 25 pages double-spaced, including endnotes. Papers should conform to the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition. Please submit them as Word documents. Please note that Word 2007 is not yet compatible with journal production systems. Unfortunately, the journal cannot accept Microsoft Word 2007 documents until such time that a stable production version is released. Please use Word's 'Save As' option therefore to save your documents as an older (.doc) file type.
There are three preferred formats for digital artwork submission: Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Portable Document Format (PDF), and Tagged Image Format (TIFF). We suggest that line art be saved as EPS files. Alternately, these may be saved as PDF files at 600 dots per inch (dpi) or better at final size. Tone art, or photographic images, should be saved as TIFF files with a resolution of 300 dpi at final size. For combination figures, or artwork that contains both photographs and labeling, we recommend saving figures as EPS files, or as PDF files with a resolution of 600 dpi or better at final size. More detailed information on the submission of electronic artwork can be found at http://authorservices.wiley.com/submit_illust.asp?site=1
