Instructions to Authors
Cultura: International Journal of Philosophy of Culture and Axiology is a biannual journal, published in June and December issues each year.
The editors encourage submissions of original manuscripts that make a novel and important contribution to understanding the values in both regional and international context, pursuing the changes that occur at these levels in the contemporary world. Manuscripts that fall outside this scope may be declined without full review. The acceptance rate is approximalte 10-15%.
Manuscripts should be submitted by e-mail to journal.axiology@yahoo.com. Submission implies that:
the submitted work is original and has not been previously published;
it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere;
all co-authors (if any) have approved submission for publication;
tacit or explicit permission for publication has been given by the responsible authorities of the institutions where the research was carried out.
The author assumes full responsibility for the ideas expressed in the material published. The journal will not be responsible for the content of a manuscript should there be a claim for compensation.
Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by two outside reviewers in a double-blind peer review process that can 2-3 months (more in some cases). The editors may ask for revision and may require reformatting of accepted manuscripts. The editors may also alter manuscripts where necessary to make them conform to the journal’s style.
Before a manuscript is published, the corresponding or primary author must review and approve page proofs of the manuscript. (Authors will be contacted by e-mail when their proofs are available in PDF format for download.) Authors are responsible for checking their proofs for accuracy and for clearly marking any corrections on the proofs. Only major errors can be corrected at the proof stage. The journal is not responsible for data or text errors that are not corrected by authors on their proofs. Failure to return proofs promptly, as outlined in instructions provided with the proofs, may delay publication of the manuscript.
As a condition of publication, authors must transfer copyright to Cultura: International Journal of Philosophy of Culture and Axiology. Manuscripts submitted under multiple authorship are reviewed on the assumption that all listed authors concur in the submission and agree on the final version to be published.
FORMAT REQUIREMENTS
A complete submission includes the following elements. Submitted manuscripts should conform to the guidelines found in the MLA (Modern Language Association) Style Manual. Helpful guides to the use of the MLA Style Manual are provided below.
TITLE
Do not underline, italicize, or place your title in quotation marks; write the title in Title Case (standard capitalization), not in all capital letters.
NAME AND PROFESSIONAL ADDRESS
Together with the manuscript, the authors must send their actual professional address and the e-mail address.
ABSTRACT
An abstract in English of no more than 200 words.
KEYWORDS
Include 5-7 words in English.
TEXT
The manuscript cannot be longer than 8000 words. The manuscript should be typed and single-spaced in A4 format, Garamond style 15 (if possible). Emphasizing italics are not to be used excessively. Bold type is not used anywhere in an article. Use italics for the title of the work and, only when is absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.
In-text citations: any source information that you provide in-text must correspond to the source information on the References page. The author's last name, year and the page number(s) from which the quotation or paraphrase is taken must appear in the text, and a complete reference should appear on your References page. Do not include URLs in-text. Only provide partial URLs such as when the name of the site includes a domain.
Multiple citations. To cite multiple sources in the same parenthetical reference, separate the citations by a semi-colon. Quoted material, translations and page references must be exact. For short quotations enclose the quotation within double quotation marks. The extended quotations (40+ words) are displayed (with left indentation).
ENDNOTES
The manuscripts must include references and/or endnotes, not footnotes. All cited authors must be included in references and/or endnotes. Notes are always endnotes. Short references should be included in the text of articles and not put in endnotes. Use the endnotes as bibliographical notes, which refer to other publications your readers may consult or as explanatory notes (content notes), which refers to brief additional information that might be too digressive for the main text.
