About the journal
Target promotes the scholarly study of translational phenomena from any part of the world and welcomes submissions of an interdisciplinary nature. The journal's focus is on research on the theory, history, culture and sociology of translation and on the description and pedagogy that underpin and interact with these foci. We welcome contributions that report on empirical studies as well as speculative and applied studies. We do not publish papers on purely practical matters, and prospective contributors are advised not to submit masters theses in their raw state. Target is double-blind peer reviewed.
We especially welcome papers on topics at the cutting edge of the discipline, as well as shorter positioning statements which may encourage discussion by contributors to the "Forum" section of the journal.
The purpose of the review section is to introduce and discuss the most important publications in the field and to reflect its evolution.
This journal is peer reviewed and indexed in: IBR/IBZ, INIST, Linguistic Bibliography/Bibliographie Linguistique, LLBA, MLA Bibliography, Scopus, Translation Studies Bibliography, European Reference Index for the Humanities, Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Current Contents, Social & Behavioral Sciences (CC/S&BS), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI), Current Contents/Arts & Humanities (CC/A&H)
Instructions to Authors
Contributions are welcomed from all countries. They should be written in English, French or German. All contributions should include an abstract in both English and French. Manuscripts should be submitted to one of the Editors in triplicate. They should be typewritten with wide margins and double spacing between the lines; please use one side of the paper only. Notes, references, figures and tables should be presented on separate sheets. Please follow the stylesheet which is available from the Editors. Authors will be informed within four months of receipt of manuscripts whether these can be accepted for publication. Submission of an article is taken to imply that it has not been previously published and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Authors will receive electronic proofs of their articles sent per email and are requested to print and check these carefully before returning them to the Editors. Authors of articles and reviews will receive a PDF file of their contribution upon publication. All correspondence concerning editorial matters should be directly sent to one of the following addresses:
