Two copies of each article should be submitted. These should be typescript, double spaced throughout (i.e. including references and quotations) and with ample margins. References, quotation marks (N.B. single, not double, for standard quotations), etc. should conform to the recent style of the journal. There should not be separate biblographies but full references given as footnotes. Footnotes should not exceed an average maximum of 25 per cent of the printed page. They too should be double spaced and listed at the end of the manuscript. No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage to scripts and these are not returned unless stamped and addressed envelopes are sent. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit an electronic version of their manuscript. Instructions for preparing and submitting manuscripts electronically are available at Guide for authors preparing electronic documents for submission

Submission of books for review to: F. Johnston, Department of English, University of Warwick, Coventry CV4 7AL. Unsolicited book reviews are not normally accepted.

No changes to content are permitted at this stage and alterations are restricted to correction of typographical errors.

Licence to Publish

It is a condition of publication in the Journal that authors grant licence to The Cambridge Quarterly. This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. Authors may use their own material in other publications provided that the Journal is acknowledged as the original place of publication, and Oxford University Press is notified in writing and in advance.

Author Self-Archiving/Public Access policy from May 2005

For information about this journal's policy, please visit our Author Self-Archiving policy page.
