About the journal
Scandia är en historievetenskaplig tidskrift som behandlar centrala teman i nordisk historieforskning. Tyngdpunkten ligger således på nordisk och övrig europisk historia samt på historisk teori/metod och historiografi. Tidsskriften utkommer två gånger om året.
Utgivningen startade 1928 på initiativ av Lauritz och Curt Weibull i Lund samt Erik Arup i Köpenhamn, då som ett organ för den källkritiska skolan. Med dessa stolta anor har Scandia sedan starten strävat efter att publicera banbrytande artiklar med relevans for forskare, studenter, lärare och andra historiskt intresserade.
Varje nummer innehåller 4-6 djupgående artiklar samt recensioner, vilka behandlar historievetenskaplig litteratur om nordisk, europisk och utomeuropisk historia och historiografi. Historiekultur, vetenskapshistoria, genus och andra teoribildningar är också högprioriterade områden. Som ett nytt inslag satsar Scandia på recensioner av utställningar och filmer med historiskt innehåll. En gång om året presenteras ett temanummer.
Scandia publicerar artiklar och recensioner på svenska, danska och norska. Även artiklar på engelska publiceras gärna. Geografisk spridning på författare till både artiklar och recensioner är en viktig målsättning.
Scandia ges ut av Stiftelsens Scandia med stöd från Vetenskapsrådet samt Carl X Gustafs fond. Redaktionen/styrelsen består av 10 ledamöter. Tidskriftens dagliga arbete sköts av huvudredaktör, redaktionssekreterare, biträdande redaktionssekreterare samt kassör. Därutöver finns ett redaktionsråd med 5 till 10 medlemmar.

Peer Review Process
For att säkra hög kvalité tillämpar tidsskriften ett Peer Review-system, vilket betyder att samtliga artiklar före publicering läses och bedöms av styrelse/redaktionsmedlem samt i anonymiserad form av externa granskare från hela Skandinavien.
Publication Frequency
Tidsskriften utkommer två gånger om året.
Varje nummer innehåller 4-6 djupgående artiklar samt recensioner.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
