About the journal
Dance Research is edited and published in Britain with the assistance of a distinguished group of editorial consultants based in Europe and the USA. The journal provides an
international forum for the presentation and discussion of contemporary dance research and contains a section of comprehensive book and journal reviews.
Dance Research is addressed to scholars and practitioners working within the many disciplines which constitute Dance Studies:
- Studies of Dancers
- Ballet
- Choreography
- Dance and Movement
- Dance and Music
- Dance History and Social History
- Folk Dance
- Injuries, Fitness and Nutrition Studies
- Performance Technique
- The Sociology of Dance
- The Anthropology of Dance
The journal is required reading for anyone who seeks to keep abreast of developments in the contemporary understanding of dance practice and culture and will appeal both to scholars and practitioners alike.
Instructions to Authors
Typescripts should be typed double-spaced on one side of the paper only, with a generous margin. A single copy of your typescript (with SAE), books for review and other correspondence should be sent to Dance Research, Edinburgh University Press, 22 George Square, Edinburgh EH8 9LF.

Articles submitted to Dance Research are subject to blind refereeing procedures. Reviews are approved by the board, and circulated externally only if they are in the form of review articles.

Discounts for Authors
Journal Authors are entitled to a 40% discount on the journal issue containing their paper, a 20% discount on all EUP books and a 10% discount on any journal subscription.
