This interdisciplinary approach provides a depth and quality to the journal that attracts both general readers and specialists from across the humanities. UTQ accepts submissions in either English or French. Instructions to Authors
Submission Guidelines
Editorial Policies
University of Toronto Quarterly welcomes contributions in all areas of the humanities - literature, philosophy, fine arts, music, the history of ideas, cultural studies, and so on. It favours articles that appeal to a scholarly readership beyond the specialists in the field of the given submission. University of Toronto Quarterly does not publish fiction or poetry.
The languages of the journal are English and French. Quotations from texts in other languages should normally be in the original language, with translations appended. University of Toronto Quarterly follows a house style based on The Chicago Manual of Style. Bibliographical information should be provided in a humanities-style 'Works Cited' list at the end of the article, with minimal identifying information in parentheses in the text.
Substantive or discursive amplification should appear in footnotes. All text, including footnotes and 'Works Cited,' should be double-spaced. Do not justify right margins.
The editors would prefer to receive two non-returnable copies, along with a copy on disk. If return is required, submissions should be accompanied by return postage (in Canada) or international reply coupons (elsewhere, including the USA).
Protocole de Rédaction
La revue University of Toronto Quarterly s'intéresse ?tous les domaines des sciences humaines (littérature, philosophie, beaux-arts, musique, histoire des idées, etc.). Les articles soumis doivent viser un lectorat savant, mais être également accessibles ?un plus vaste public non familier avec le champ restreint de la recherche en question.
La revue University of Toronto Quarterly ne publie ni fiction ni poésie. Elle publie en français et en anglais. Les citations en d'autres langues doivent apparaître dans l'originalet être accompagnées d'une traduction entre parenthèses. Les informations bibliographiques doivent être placées en fin d'article, sous forme de liste alphabétique dans une rubrique intitulée << Ouvrages cités>>; les renvois ?cette liste sont mis entre parenthèses dans le corps du texte, avec un minimum d'informations pertinentes (auteur, date, pages).
Les notes infrapaginales sont réservées aux commentaires d'ordre discursif et argumentatif. Le texte, incluant les notes infrapaginales et les <>, doit être dactylographi??double interligne. Ne pas justifier la marge de droite.
La direction de la revue aimerait recevoir deux copies papier et une disquette contenant le texte. Ces documents ne sont pas retournées ?leur auteur. Dans le cas o?l'auteur désire ravoir les document, prière d'inclure des timbres canadiens ou un mandat-poste international, y compris pour les États-Unis.
